How Has Vietnam's Exhibition Industry Been Affected In The Face Of The COVID-19 Pandemic?

Over the years, the technology industry of fairs and exhibitions has been constantly developing and is always considered an important method of promoting products, services and brands in the business strategy of all Vietnamese enterprises in particular and the world in general. Since then, Exhibition Vietnam has also contributed to the Vietnamese economy, creating jobs for many workers. However, in the past two years, Vietnam has faced an epidemic called COVID-19 that can be said to destroy the whole world, causing festival activities to stop and exhibitions are no exception.

Domestic situation

In Vietnam, there are two large venues that regularly organize exhibitions, namely Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (HCMC) and ICE International Exhibition Center (Hanoi) , which will be held here now due to the complicated translation situation, so the delay and change of time is constantly. The centers gradually fell because the number of businesses registered to participate decreased and could not receive as many visitors as before.

The spread of the disease not only caused serious losses from the top of the industry to the organizers because it was a headache to rearrange the schedule of events to avoid duplication in the future. On the other hand, some exhibitors face contract costs such as space deposit, exhibition booth construction costs, airfare and accommodation costs, etc. They may miss the opportunity to trade, exchange with other businesses and introduce new products and services at this time.

World situation

In 2020, there have been a number of major exhibitions that could not be held, leaving many regrets for exhibitors and visitors such as the world's largest Global Mobile Exhibition - MWC 2020 in Barcelona, Exhibition Auto Geneva 2020 (Switzerland), the world's largest travel fair ITB Berlin (Germany), HVAC&R Exhibition 2020 (Japan),... all had to cancel their organization plans due to at times dangerous outbreaks to ensure the safety and health of the community.
